Location: Pala, CA

Responsible for all slot operations staff, impressed funds and gaming regulatory compliance. Understands the philosophy of the organization as set down by the administrators and works effectively within. Administers department policies and evaluates standards of performance. Maintains clear and open communications upward, downward and laterally. Evaluates operating procedures, recommends changes and implements approved changes. Orientates, trains, counsels, disciplines, evaluates and recommends for termination department staff. Act in relation to employees, guests and/or general public in a manner consistent with the best interest of the organization.

  • Two (2) years experience in a slot department setting.
  • Five (5) years supervisory experience required.
  • Must have thorough understanding of the Pala Gaming Commission pertaining to slot operations.
  • The ability to understand and comply with all departmental and company rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with staff.
  • Demonstrate the ability to counsel and develop subordinates in a fair, equal and favorable work environment.
  • Ability to perform basic math.
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment and two-way radio.
  • Computer experience in Microsoft Windows and Oasis Systems Interface.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Organize and coordinate the activities of slot operations staff.
  • Oversee the departmental function on the assigned shift.
  • Administer department policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with all aspects of the Pala Casino internal controls.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with all aspects of the Pala Gaming Commission.
  • Evaluate standards of performance of subordinates.
  • Maintain clear an open communications upward, downward and laterally.
  • Evaluate operational procedures; recommend changes and implement-approved changes.
  • Hire, train, counsel, discipline, and evaluate staff.
  • Make recommendations for termination that, after coaching and discipline still continues to perform at levels below acceptable levels with the Pala Casino.
  • Maintain required key controls.
  • Perform job functions of subordinates as necessary.
  • Authorize jackpots on the casino floor.
  • Prepare daily or weekly schedules; solicit recommendations for changes and implement-approved changes.
  • Prepare slot management reports as assigned from the Oasis slot management system.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Maintain confidentiality of pertinent casino data and guests.
  • Be knowledgeable about the Pala Casino’s services, features, attractions, promotions and special events to respond accurately to guest/team member inquiries.
  • Be completely knowledgeable about the basic functions of slot machines.
  • Circulate throughout the casino; monitor the level of business activity and staffing requirements. Adjust slot staff as necessary.
  • Notify Pala Gaming Commission with gaming disputes over $1000.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
